Ruth Bradley was already a fan of Slow Horses before joining the show

Ruth Bradley was already a huge fan of Slow Horses before getting the opportunity to join the show this season.  As a result she loved getting the chance to step into a world that she was already familiar with.  One of the aspects which was helpful to her was knowing Lamb as a character, portrayed by Gary Oldman, because it allowed her to think how her character would respond the first time meeting him.  In playing Emma Flyte she immediately connected to her and really enjoyed building a lot of the specific elements around her backstory and life outside of MI5.  Flyte steps into the world of Slow Horses and meets the team all within the span of a single day which was an interesting facet for her to approach in knowing how short an amount of time the episodes took place in.  A highlight for her in working on the show was the opportunity to work with actors such as Gary Oldman and Jack Lowden who she found to bring a lot of layers to scene work.  But she also noted that the entire series is full of actors working at the top of their game.  Slow Horses has been a huge highlight for Bradley in terms of experiences and a show that she continues to be a fan of after stepping into its world.
