Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu on Showcasing Sylvie’s Internal Fear

Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu joined us recently to discuss the much anticipated new season of the hit Netflix series Emily in Paris. She shared how she's always loved playing Sylvie and naturally found both her harsh edges and her vulnerabilities as a character early on. Growing up she saw women like Sylvie and noted that it always seemed like they were afraid of something, and so there was an internal fear she wanted to bring to her through her performance. Through her character expanding and growing as the show has progressed, this season in particular allowed a lot of continued discovery for her as Sylvie set out to run her own business. In terms of likeness, she likens her character to a cat, always being someone who moves through the world on her own terms and waits for others to come to her as opposed to the other way round. On a personal level, she has thoroughly enjoyed her time in the series as well as everything Sylvie's dynamic with Emily continues to explore for her.
