Candy Producers Jessica Biel and Michelle Purple talk Partnership and Iron Ocean

Jessica Biel and Michelle Purple formed their production company, Iron Ocean together after meeting on set on a feature film and spoke to us about how this cemented their working relationship and partnership which now spans several years and several critically revered projects from Limetown and Cruel Summer to The Sinner and now Candy.

As producers on Candy, they connected to the complexity of the story and the opportunity to tell a story where there is no finite answer to the actual turn of events, and how in turn this allows the audience to create their own verdict.

For Biel, she spoke to the complexity of playing the titular role of Candy, and in particular how she tapped into a space of violence when having to film the cumulative scene with Melanie Lynskey.

They both shared some of the behind the scenes conversations around how to tell this story, and what to include and how showrunner Robin Veith was a crucial creative voice in her vision for the show.

Watch the full conversation below.
