Greg Davies and Alex Horne on the Comedy of Failure in Taskmaster

Sixteen seasons in, Greg Davies and Alex Horne have mastered the art of creating new episodes of Taskmaster and yet the format still always keeps it fresh for them. They spoke to us about their dynamic with one and another in the show as staunch disciplinarian and sidekick, and how contestants often respond to them differently because of this. They spoke to how many parts of creating the show often feel very seamless at this point and credit the behind the scenes team in their roles with this. With a mix of offsite tasks filmed ahead of time and in studio tasks, they always find the levity in each success and often enjoy the comedy of failure even more so.

Q&A on Season 16 of Taskmaster with hosts Greg Davies & Alex Horne. Moderated by Mara Webster, In Creative Company.

Greg Davies is the `Taskmaster' in this game show that challenges the wit and wisdom of five celebrities, who are all putting their reputations on the line. Sidekick Alex Horne assists Davies in setting up unique and ridiculous tasks for the competitors, which include painting a picture of a horse whilst riding a horse, and making a portrait of a celebrity using only toilet rolls. The competition is further fuelled by the fact that the prize pot is made up of each person's personal possessions, which they will lose to the overall winner.
