Taissa Farmiga on the Preparation for her Character in The Gilded Age

Taissa Farmiga joins us to talk all about starring in the new HBO Max series, The Gilded Age as Gladys.

To prepare for her character, Taissa looked at the interactions between the actors playing her parents in the series to gain a sense of understanding of how it shapes her character. Unlike Gladys, her mother Bertha and father George had to work hard for what they had to give Gladys a sheltered life. This fuels Gladys's desire for discovery throughout her character arc.

Farmiga said, " Reading into the depth of the other characters always affects how you play it." According to her, this preparation process made Gladys so much better.

The Gilded Age actress also breaks down how her audition process helped her connect to the right character she ends up playing.
