Leslie Bibb on Searching for a Sense of Purpose in Palm Royale

Leslie Bibb recently sat down with us to discuss her approach to portraying the complex Dinah in the Apple TV+ series Palm Royale. For her depiction, she drew inspiration from reading the novel related to the series and focused on Dinah's struggle to find her place in society while searching for a sense of purpose and self-fulfillment. In particular, Dinah's exploration of self-worth was primarily through external sources and Leslie concentrated on showing the balance between the calculating and adaptive sides of Dinah.

Leslie delved into the complex relationship between Dinah and Maxine, expressing gratitude for the casting that allowed for spontaneous and authentic acting moments. In addition, she emphasized the importance of costuming–and particularly the nails–which helped her embody the character. She highlighted that although Palm Royale is a comedy, there was an added challenge of finding the balance between humor and the deeper emotions in the series.
