Jennifer Morrison on Directing, Producing, and Starting Her Own Book Club

Jennifer Morrison has established a hugely successful career in the entertainment industry not only as an actor, but also as a director and producer working extensively across both film and television. She joined us to talk about running and expanding her own production company, Apartment 3C and the recent launch of a book club where she aims to create dialogue around the monthly selections. She also shared details of her journey into directing and how having acted in over 300 episodes of television gave her an extensive training ground in being able to observe and study numerous directors. This experience has led her to directing episodes of tv shows including Euphoria, One of us is Lying and Dr Death.

Jennifer Morrison is a multi-talented force whose work is not only seen in front of the camera, but behind it as well. She has directed for various projects, including episodes for Peacock’s “Dr. Death,” the pilot of Peacock’s “One of Us Is Lying,” HBO’s “Euphoria” and the 2017 comedy-drama film, “Sun Dogs,” which was also produced through her production company, Apartment 3C Productions. In 2016, Jennifer launched her production company with the vision of utilizing the experience she has gained from working alongside talented directors and visionaries throughout her career, in order to craft her own voice as a storyteller across all mediums. Jennifer’s production company, Apartment 3C Productions, the book club, A3C Reads, in partnership with the Young Lions of the New York Public Library. Each month, A3C Reads will select a book of the month + carry a conversation throughout the month by highlighting favorite quotes from the book, emphasizing themes discussed and will conclude the month with a live interview at with the author of the selected book. These books are all written by a wide array of authors who Jennifer is putting in the spotlight as they are previously unheard voices, have a diverse background, are young, etc.
