Arsema Thomas, Darrell Britt-Gibson and Nate Edwards on collaborating on the film She Taught Love

Director Nate Edwards, actor Arsema Thomas and actor and screenwriter Darrell Britt-Gibson sat down to speak with us about their film She Taught Love recently.  The film centers on Mali and Frank who meet and start falling for each other all the while knowing there might be an expiration on their relationship due to a health diagnosis.  They all found it important to have the film focus on all of the layers within its characters and to not allow a characters health condition to define who she is in the world.  Arsema Thomas spoke about how the script gave her so many rich details into Mali's life and the fact that as an actor this is a real gift.  As a filmmaker Nate Edwards wanted to capture the intimacy of a relationship as it grows and builds all the while pulling apart and coming back together and made several stylistic choices with this in mind throughout the making of the film.  They found the process of working together incredibly cohesive especially when it came to finding the overall tone of the film together.
