Anna Kendrick on the Emotional Scars in Alice, Darling

Anna Kendrick spoke with us about her new incredibly personal film Alice, Darling in which she both plays the titular character and takes on the role of executive producer. In this poignant film, she explores a character who is in a toxic relationship where her partner has been exhibiting emotional abuse and what it means for Alice to start confronting some of the truths of this alongside her friends on a weekend away. Through the film she wanted to highlight the small details and emotional nuance of a space where there are no physical scars but where the emotional ones run deep. She shared how closely she collaborated with director Mary Nighy and how this was a story she immediately she knew she had to be part of when she read the script.
