Jessie Mei Li on the Magic of Shadow and Bone’s Season 2

We talked to everyone’s favorite sun summoner, Jessie Mei Li, about returning for the second season of Netflix’s hit show Shadow and Bone. They found the second season offered a lot of wonderful spaces to continue developing everything they had created in season one. One example of this was having no concept of how magic would look on screen visually when filming scenes in the first season, but now knowing exactly how this would look on screen being able to come into scenes with very specific ideas.

They found the expansion of the world and addition of new characters to be exhilarating and loved the chance to work with so many great new cast members.
