Duster actors Josh Holloway & Rachel Hilson Discuss Teaming up for the Show
Josh Holloway and Rachel Hilson discuss teaming up for the show Duster and finding the retro feel of the series together. For Josh it was an exciting opportunity to reunite with JJ Abrams after previously working together on the hit series lost. Rachel was excited to dive into the world of the series based on the writing and its quality.
Ahead of filming Josh trained in stunt driving so that he could authentically drive the shows iconic car, a Duster in the manner of his character being someone who is able to make fast escapes whenever needed. His character is forced to question his loyalty towards someone who has been a father figure to him and he felt that it was important to make this arc believable in why he would suddenly be questioning everything he previously though to be true.
For Rachel, in taking on the role of a new FBI recruit she wanted to add layers to the experience of her character trying to find her footing while being shut out and diminished by her colleagues. Through this she found it formed a lot of need for self confidence in her but also a side of her where she gives credit to other peoples ideas and accomplishments from knowign what it’s like not to receive this.
Their characters begin on opposite sides but start finding a need to trust each other and this was something the pair thoroughly enjoyed getting to explore and find together particularly in the way their characters communicate with one and other. But equally they knew it was important to not let the trust build too quickly or too soon.
