Adam Scott on Creating Unique Humor in Severance

Adam Scott discusses his new Apple TV+ series Severance. Describing his character development process he likened it as creating two versions of the same character for his ‘innie’ and his ‘outie’ within the show. He shares his approach in crafting a character who has struggled to move on from loss and how this is something Mark carries into the workplace even though he has no recollection of why he is experiencing certain emotions and feelings. The show offered the chance to create offbeat humor for the cast including the aspects of conjuring how his characte would dance at a work place event when he’s someone who has been so repressed for a while. He had the opportunity to share several scenes with Patricia Arquette who he praises highly for her artistry in the show.
